Colette, a wonderfully happy and contented baby
‘After trying to conceive for a number of years, we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. As we didn’t want IVF or any other form of assisted conception, we had exhausted the options the NHS could provide. Disappointed, but sure there must be something else out there, we found LIFE FertilityCare.
We were taught how to understand the signs of fertility by our practitioner. Blood tests revealed a hormone imbalance and our treatment was tailored accordingly.
Four pregnancies followed but sadly they all ended in early miscarriage. So we were advised to explore one final option – that my ‘unexplained infertility’ was, in fact, undiagnosed endometriosis. Sure enough, further investigations revealed endometriosis which was found and successfully treated.
Given our past experiences, we approached trying for a baby again with some trepidation! However, on the very same cycle that the endometriosis was removed, I became pregnant for the fifth time.
We were given constant support throughout the pregnancy by the LIFE FertilityCare Programme. I was given hormone medication to help ensure the safety of the baby and the staff were always on hand to deal with our questions and concerns.
On the 25 November the day we’d been waiting for, for so long, finally arrived. Colette Anne Brown was born kicking and screaming, and weighing a healthy 9lbs 14 oz.
The feeling of happiness, fulfilment and awe at the miracle of life is still with us now. She is a wonderfully happy and contented baby; we put this down to her knowing how much she was longed for and how much she’s loved.
There is an alternative treatment to assisted conception. It’s safe, co-operates with your natural cycle, supports you as a couple and, of course, has proven successes – even when you may feel all is lost.
The road to parenthood has not been easy, but Life FertilityCare supported us on our journey with love and support. They helped us to be strong as a couple when we could have fallen apart. We will be back again soon to try for number 2!’
